The
site's author, Paul Ashford, a photographer and landscape
planting designer from Dunedin NZ has produced this site
as a reference picture gallery for gardeners and as an image
bank of quality digital horticultural photography for the
horticulture and publishing trades.
All
plants in this horticultural image bank were happily growing
in New Zealand's gardens, parks and wild places, mostly
in the South Island.

Agapanthus (Lily of the Nile, African
Lily)
is a large evergreen perennial from the onion family (Alliaceae).
Agapanthus leaves are long and strap-shaped, forming dense
climps. Tall Agapanthus flower stems appear over a long
season. Blue flowers are common with some white and pink
Agapanthus cultivars also available.
