The red-tipped Photinia
'Red Robin' cultivar is by far the best form available.
It's glossy evergreen
foliage looks great all-year-round, but it's the fresh young leaves
that really make it stand out. This bright red foliage covers the
plant from spring onwards, and is often still looking colourful
by the time autumn arrives.
Clusters of white flowers
are a secondary bonus.
Can be trained as a small
tree, or clipped tightly for formal hedging. It perhaps shows its
assets fully when clipped less frequently, grown as an informal
hedge up to 5m tall.
